Vu Huynh

Vu’s style is a blend of traditional, though non-dogmatic and person centred, weaving in elements of mindfulness, introspection & embodied awareness.

Vu has taught specialised yoga programs (Ashtanga Mysore-style) and mindfulness meditation classes in Australia & overseas, including workshops and teacher trainings. His clinical oncology and psychology background influences his work, as well as his training in India, bringing together a depth of understanding of how yoga supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Vu’s meditation practice draws from a Buddhist Vipassana lens as well as his annual silent meditation retreats. He would say his teaching style is a mix of traditional yet non-dogmatic and person centered, weaving in elements of mindfulness, introspection and embodied awareness, in a way that is accessible and trauma-informed.

Alongside teaching yoga, Vu runs the Mindfulness & Trauma Clinic, where he offers individual and couples therapy, as well as mentorship for yoga students and teachers. Here is where his passion for mindfulness-based approaches have expanded to include therapies such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). Vu also has experience working with a range of injuries and health conditions—both on the mat and in clinical settings—including complex and chronic pain conditions that may be unexplained or difficult to treat.
