Our Yoga…

Flow

Flow is our vinyasa flow yoga flow that will leave you feeling radiant with more space in your body and mind. Expect a well-paced yoga flow that has enough challenge to meet you where you are.

Slow

Slow is a slow flow, moving breath and body together. Our focus is on generating spaciousness, fluidity and flow in how you feel in your body and mind. Expect Slow to be the sister of our Flow classes but with more time to inhabit your movements.

Ashtanga

The Ashtanga yoga method is a system of yoga that consists of a set sequence of postures, each combined with breath technique and focal points in the body and the gaze. The technique emphasises a silent self practice that gradually expands with experience, with the guidance of a teacher. This silent self practice is known as the Mysore practice.

FAQs

A few questions we get asked a lot that might be on your mind, too.

  • Yes please. We have a few emergency spares, but can’t guarantee availability.

  • We are a full service studio and supply props. You might prefer to bring your own. We also have a selection of props for sale.

  • No experience necessary. Our classes cater to all levels of yoga practitioners. We welcome total beginners, those with some fitness or movement experience and those who have practiced yoga for many years. Each class gives options to give you your own personal experience of the practice.

  • It depends. Make sure you have clearance from your healthcare provider to practice yoga and you have a plan for treatment for your injury. You may contact us to discuss before coming to class, or let the teacher know when you arrive at class.

  • Absolutely! We all begin where we are. Yoga is the perfect thing to help you gradually become more flexible.

  • We now have a Prenatal Yoga video specific for pregnant women and suitable to use right up to birth. Contact us for access to our prenatal yoga session.

If you are coming to Art of Flow for the first time, we take new pregnant students after 12 weeks and once you have clearance from your primary prenatal care provider. Please feel free to contact us to discuss and let your teacher know when you come to class.

If you are a current student of Art of Flow, please discuss with the teacher.

  • Most classes are suited for postpartum, with modifications. Make sure you have clearance from your primary postnatal care provider. We usually recommend 6-8 weeks after you have your baby as a guideline.

The following classes are suited for post-partum:
    Foundations of Flow
    Slow
    Mysore

We recommend that you wait until 3 months postpartum to attend Yin classes. Yin classes will work deeply on stretching ligaments. In the first few months after pregnancy, the focus should be on bringing your body back into strength and stability.
